Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands, Hon. Manasseh Sogavare interviewed on ABC News Australia about his support for the people of West Papua. Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare says he will fly to Jakarta in an attempt to get the Indonesian government to agree to meet with a delegation from the United Liberation Movement.
Hon. Manasseh Sogavare is the Chair of the Melanesian Spearhead Group and a strong a vocal supporter of the West Papuan people and struggle. Today he said that he is aware that the Indonesian President is very cautious about his actions and approach towards West Papuans very lately, knowing too well that the world is.
Statement; “Christian churches are the conscience of the nation, and therefore have the duty to be the voice of the voiceless and must continue to stand in solidarity with our Melanesian brothers and sisters in West Papua who are still under oppression, and are still living in the current environment which can only be described.
